Northern States Road Trip (Day 4 - Madison and Chicago)

The only thing we had planned for today was a long drive to Chicago, but we ended up doing/seeing/eating some fun things.
Starting out the day with a bit of reading.
Can't go through Wisconsin without eating cheese.
Normally you do cheese and crackers, but Douglas was happy with crackers sans cheese.
We stopped in Madison after Sam did some online searching and found this delightful little cheese place.  "Fromage" means "cheese" in French.  The cheeses on our plate in the photo are 5-year aged cheddar, Thorp gouda, and Saxony.
Fromagination happened to be located just across the street from the Wisconsin State capitol building, which is quite impressive.  Needless to say, Sam really enjoyed being in that building.

We passed by this cool-looking church in Chicago on the way to our hotel.

After off-loading our luggage at the hotel we walked a few blocks to continue the theme of the day (cheese) by eating Chicago's famous deep-dish pizza.  We had to wait one hour to be seated, but it was worth the wait.
We ordered their smallest pizza.  Yikes.
Douglas didn't mind the hour-long wait at all.  He provided plenty of entertainment for all.
Eventually, after his bedtime had passed, we provided the entertainment to keep Douglas happy.

Twas another good day.  We are excited to explore the downtown area all day tomorrow.  We are just as excited to leave the vehicle in the garage for TWO nights and walk everywhere.  Wahoo!
