The Life of a Newborn

Ah, the care-free life of a newborn.
Ari spent the weekend with us and enjoyed some time with Penny.
"Aaaahaha.  My Dad is so white!"

Hanging out on the driveway.
It took him a week, but eventually he wanted to hold his little sister.
Sam went out for a pedicure yesterday.  When Penny woke up from her nap (the same time Douglas woke up from his) I asked Douglas if he wanted to help feed her.

"Dad, stop messing with my shirt!"
I believe Douglas began a new habit this week.  In the past he would wake up in the middle of the night, come into our room, and poke his Mama to get her attention.
Now he comes into the room and looks for a good spot to resume his sleep.

"I am Penny!"

Pregnancy Peppers

I forgot to post this picture from a week or two ago.  We figured out that Sam ate approximately 20 peppers each week during the last few months of her pregnancy.  Twas her go-to snack at all times of the day or night.  You're welcome, Costco.  We haven't really decreased our pepper consumption postpartum.  I love them as well.
I never thought of Douglas as a big boy until I started carrying around our little 8-pound Penny.
What he thinks of his new little sister.
Comfort
 "Haha.  Good one, Dad."
"Oh, really?"
 "Enough pictures!"
 "Alright, I'm tired of this."
Doogles loves his little sister.

"I'm so fatigued.  Turn out the lights and let me sleep."

Penny - Day 3

Getting ready to leave the hospital

Home, sweet home!

Penny needed a bit of sunshine today, but my face does not need more sunshine.

"Oh, that feels good."
Relaxation
Whoa, did I take one too many photos?

Father's Day

Penny got some semi-skin-to-skin time with.........well........um........I'm not sure what that is.  I think it's her father, but it looks like a corpse.
Grandma Coombs helped Doogles answer these questions about me.
Grandpa Coombs holding his new little granddaughter.
"Dad, why are you smiling at the camera?  I think something is wrong."
Sam helped Doogles answer these questions about me.
Doogles (Sam) gave me this card for Father's Day.  By the way, Penny has been releasing a large amount of toxic fumes today.  I wonder if she inherited my odorous genes.

What a cutie!  Awesome Father's Day gift.
