Douglas's first soccer game

Douglas played in his first soccer game today. Here he is warming up with his team.

Practicing throwing the ball in from the sideline.
There they are! Team blue. I know they have a team name, but I'm not sure what it is. Sam?

Douglas subbed out during the third quarter. Kate came to watch Douglas play as well.
Overall, Douglas had fun. He had no idea what to do, but he still enjoyed chasing the ball.

Swimming!

Granny was kind enough to give Douglas and Penny some swimming lessons almost every day over the last two weeks. All of Sara's children came to the pool on a few of the days. Oh, how they loved the water.
I'm not sure if Diana enjoyed splashing the water (she was shocked every single time when the water came back up to hit her in the face), but she sure did a lot of it.

Our sumo wrestler.
Snack time after swimming. Douglas, Denali, and Penny.
Diana is still a bit too small for her floaty, but she'll grow into it.

Helloooo, camera!

Penny and Denali, sans clothing, reading with Granny.
Back at Granny's house. Douglas created this racetrack using the tiles.

The snake is one of Diana's favorite toys. She wouldn't even let go while she slept!
Like mother, like daughter. That is a photo of Sam when Sam was Penny's age.

The kids love the trampoline as well. A swimming pool and a trampoline. What better things exist to delight (and wear out) the children? :)
We're back in our own home tonight. Family . . . what fun.

Summer fun

Grandma Coombs got this neat thing for Douglas and Penny to see how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. After the four caterpillars (Butternut, Buttercup, Butterscotch, and Buttercream) became butterflies, we released them into nature.

Lizzie came into town for the week with her boys. We spent one afternoon at one of our favorite little spots in Provo Canyon.

Penny liked this tree.
The boys love Penny and Diana.
Off we go to the BYU bowling center.
Douglas, Jesper, Ari, Denali, Penny, Maxwell, Anders, Oskar, Magnus, Karsten, Jude, Gideon

Setting up the games
Good form, Doogles!
Watching Penny's ball make its way toward the pins.
The bigger boys chose different names for themselves.

I tried to get Ari to smile.
He's trying not to smile!
I should mention that Lizzie took most of these photos. Here she captured a determined Penny ascending to the Pacman game.

I bet you wish you could clean your ears with your tongue.
Leaving the bowling center.

Jesper and Oskar holding Penny's hand.
Jesper, Penny, Denali, Douglas, Maxwell, and Magnus (aka "Paggy") at the BYU creamery.

Puzzles with Grandpa Ogden.

Paggy wearing Grandpa's glasses. Denali doesn't know what to think about the flower on Grandpa's head.

Filling up some water balloons for the younger children.

Sam and Diana watching the fun.
Having fun with my little Princess Penny.

And what would a blog post be without some cute photos of my other little princess, Diana?
Moving down as she became excited.
