Until we meet again, Granny.

Our beautiful little Granny passed away on June 17th.  Here Mom, Sara, and Joseph are visiting her during her last hours in this life.

Yesterday, June 23rd, a memorial service for Granny was held in the Edgemont 6th Ward chapel.  The entire chapel was filled with friends and family.
Maxwell at the viewing.

We enjoyed a very nice program before moving to the cemetery.

Granny used to love walking up Timpview Drive, so it is fitting that her last move would be straight up Timpview Drive to the cemetery.

Bishop Peter Johansson making some remarks.
Dad said a few words as well.

This is the first time in years (YEARS) that we were able to take a picture with our entire family......although later in the day we discovered that 7-year-old Gideon is not in any of the pictures.  Ha!  Maybe next time.

Back at the chapel the 6th Ward fed our entire extended family.  Granny had many friends.  103 years worth of friends!

Following lunch we went back to Dad and Mom's house to play with family, which is exactly what Granny would want us to do to remember her.  She loved her family.  Still does. :)

How wonderful it is to live the gospel of Jesus Christ and know that death is a temporary separation.  Dearest Granny, we love you and we will see you again.  Thank you for all the wonderful memories.

Happy Birthday, Penny!

Knowing I would not be home for her first birthday, we decided to celebrate the completion of Penny's first year with us earlier this month.  Sam made her some muffins and we had fun watching her figure out what to do.

"Hmm, this is new."
"I guess I'll do to it what I do to all of my other foods - squish it with my finger."
"Am I doing okay?"
"Ha!  Okay, I understand what I'm supposed to do."
"Oooo!  This stuff is yummy!"
"More!"
"Now I'll try the fork."
"I got some!"

A couple of photos from two weeks ago when Sam, Doogles, and Penny went to a wedding.  Good-looking people!

What a great son!  I love my Father's Day video.

Nate's High School Graduation and Schofield's Baby Blessing

One of Douglas's favorite activities these days.
Last Thursday, May 31st, Douglas's Uncle Nate (Sam's youngest brother), graduated from Mountain Crest High School.  He's on to bigger and better things!
Last Sunday, June 3rd, baby Schofield (son of Spencer and Jori - Sam's brother and sister-in-law) received his baby blessing.
 The happy parents and grandparents.
Sam, Taylor, Stacie, and Kate - Schofield's aunts who will be loving on him for years to come.
 Douglas representing Grandpa Coombs's business.
On Monday Sam held a neat FHE (Family Home Evening) where we traced each other's silhouettes and then wrote on them the various gifts with which the Lord has blessed us.

Note:  I had to look up the spelling of the word "silhouette."  Interesting origin:

Douglas asked me to send this video to his cousin, Krew, "because he doesn't know that I know the prophets."
