I received a wonderful pre-Father's Day gift today.
Sam woke me up at 6:45 this morning and told me she was having some strong contractions. 30 minutes later she told me to call Margaret (her Mother) and get ready to go. I called our neighbors 15 minutes after that and they sent their daughter (Elsie) to stay with Douglas until Margaret arrived, and we headed off to the hospital. We arrived at the hospital at 7:59am, Sam was checked by Marcie, the nurse in the Labor & Delivery section (Sam's water broke while Marcie was checking her) at 8:13am, and Penny Marcia Ogden was born at 8:28am, three days after the due date. She came so fast the doctor didn't even make it to the birth, and Sam didn't have time to receive an epidural.

Penny weighed in at 8 pounds 7 ounces and is 19.5 inches long. She's a healthy little girl. Despite some tearing Sam is doing well and is very happy to have given birth naturally.
