Northern States Road Trip (Day 3 - Bismarck and St. Paul Temples)

This morning Sam and I attended a session at the Bismarck, North Dakota Temple.  Every third Wednesday they have a number of sisters who babysit at the church building next to the temple for parents who want to drop their children off and attend the temple together.  Remember Russell T. Osguthorpe?  He used to be the Sunday School General President.  He is now President of the Bismarck Temple.  He scanned our recommends as we entered the temple.
 Photo bomb!

We left the Bismarck Temple at 1:30pm and raced (six hours!) across North Dakota and half of Minnesota in order to arrive at the St. Paul Temple in time for my 8:00pm initiatory appointment.  I drove three hours straight, we stopped for five minutes to gas up the car, and then Sam drove for three hours straight.  Douglas took a nap and watched two movies.  He was definitely ready to get out of the vehicle by the time we reached St. Paul.  We were all ready to get out!

Once again the Lord blessed us with good weather for our photos.  It rained before we arrived in St. Paul, and it rained after we left the temple, but no rain while we were taking pictures.

A couple of answers to our question (What is one thing you know about Mormons?):

Crystal (waitress at Outback Steakhouse):  "They wait [to have sex] until marriage.  I had a co-worker who was.....is......Mormon.  She waited.  Her brother didn't."

Girl at the front desk of our hotel tonight:  "They're religious."
