We did Seattle today, beginning at Pike Place Market and the gum wall.
The original Starbucks Coffee
Russian bakery. I had a piroshki (Russian pastry) filled with mushrooms, onions, and celery. Sam had the spinach, egg, and cheese piroshki. Dessert was a cream-of-wheat piroshki. Yummy.
Once again, if you haven't read "The Boys in the Boat," you must do it! Do it now!

We visited the Conibear Shell House at the University of Washington to see the original Husky Clipper. Unfortunately, they were holding a reception in the exact location of that 1936 Olympic gold medal boat and we weren't able to see it up close.......so we might have to make another quick stop on the way back down.
See the names in that top boat? You'll recognize those names after you read "The Boys in the Boat."
We didn't realize how LONG those 8-man row boats are.
We also didn't realize that the Huskies had a home football game today, so we ran into game day traffic and hundreds of tailgaters.
Can you tell it's a training facility for the rowing teams? :)
Wandering around the Seattle Space Needle
After tiring our legs walking around Seattle we drove north into Canada and now we're staying a few nights with our wonderful hosts, Brian and Bernice. They gave up their room for us, made an amazing meal for us, and they're even ironing my church clothes for me! We're definitely being spoiled.
