O Canada!

Walking around downtown Vancouver on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon with Brian and Berni.

The weather yesterday (Sunday) was so perfect that we decided to book Sam on a scenic tour over Vancouver on one of the sea planes.  Of course, the weather for her flight this morning was somewhat  less than perfect.  Ah well, at least she got to take off and land on water.

I took these two photos yesterday, when the sun was out and the temperature was perfect.

Our car had a bit of trouble starting this morning when we left White Rock.  We parked in the underground parking of a fancy hotel in order for Sam to catch her scenic flight.  When we returned to the vehicle it wouldn't start.  Fortunately, the hotel staff were friendly and offered to send one of their vans down to jump-start our car.  And fortunately, I had cables in my car.  If you don't have cables, they call a taxi to jump-start your car and you pay $15.  One of the other destinations we had on our itinerary for today was a stop at Mean Poutine.  Sam wanting to try poutine.  However, knowing that we had a dying battery we didn't want to stop and turn the car off, so we did a drive-by to get the poutine.
Later this afternoon I had the pleasure of hanging out at Canadian Tire while our vehicle received a new battery.  We count ourselves very lucky (nay, blessed) that our battery died where it did, and not out in the boonies somewhere.
Tonight we had our "last supper" (for now) with Brian and Berni at a nice, little sushi restaurant.  Here we are with our post-dinner mango ice cream.  Thank you, Brian and Berni, for treating us so well these last two days.  See you soon!
