Skin to Skin with Skinny D

S is doing much better today.  She can get up and walk on her own now and she can keep down whatever she eats.  Happy day!

Because we don't want to expose too much of S's skin in the public forum, today you get to see photos of skin to skin time between D & d.

We love the little white specks on the tip of his nose.

Despite the fact that he spent the last nine months in the dark, he still cannot beat his daddy in the "who's whiter?" contest.
He probably looks better nourished than his daddy as well.  Ha!

This is my favorite shot of the day.  I insist that he had a slight smile for the camera.
Roy Hall did indeed buy us dinner today....
...and boy did we feast!  Sam had the balsamic glazed salmon (grilled salmon with pineapple salsa, jasmine rice pilaf, and grilled asparagus) and I had the butternut squash cannelloni (house-made butternut squash cannelloni, with a cranberry-teryaki glaze and sautéed spinach).  He also gave us a bunch of their bread with their amazing olive-oil/cheese/garlic dip.
Thanks again, Roy!  I'm sure little Douglas enjoyed the food as well, although it was probably filtered some.  Garlic milk......yummy.

  1. Yup, you could use some of Dougie's fat and color. He's so darling. He has the exact same hair color you had as a newborn, a light peach fuzz. He's really cute.

  2. He's totally smiling in that picture! And look at his monkey arm in that same picture. This kid is going to be a giant!! :D It's nice to see Sam a little perkier. I'm glad she's not throwing up anymore. Love you guys! Keep the pictures coming! :D

  3. Also, Oskar was looking at the pictures with me and on one of the closer shots of the little man he started pinching his fingers together and saying, "honk, honk, honk." He wanted to honk Doogie's nose. :D
