Happy 4th Birthday, Doogles!

I came home yesterday morning.  Penny was a bit hesitant to see me, but quickly warmed up over the next few hours.
Douglas is four years old today.  This morning he was spotlighted by his Mother at his pre-school class.

Sam read Douglas's current favorite book to his pre-school class.
Opening presents after pre-school.  Douglas is wearing the crown his pre-school teacher (Ms. Ashley) gave him for his birthday.
Douglas's Grandma Coombs stopped by to celebrate with him.

He loves his guitar, which was inspired by the recent movie, Coco.

A new train set.
He knows all 13 of the LDS (Mormon) Church's Articles of Faith.

Getting ready to blow out the candles.

This is the first year he was actually able to blow out the candles by himself. He's growing up!

Sam made German pancakes for Douglas's birthday dinner.  Yum.
A few random photos from the past week.  Waiting to get Douglas's hair cut.
Douglas is taking swimming lessons for a few weeks to get used to the water again.
I think he likes the pool. We went swimming this afternoon as part of his birthday activities.
Penny wants to climb on/in/over/through/under everything she sees these days.  She is the total opposite of Douglas.  He is careful.  She is fearless!
We love you, Douglas!  Happy 4th Birthday.

Because it's Mother's Day on Sunday.  Douglas is the great young man he is due in large part to his wonderful Mother.  Definitely not "just" a Mom.
