Summer Fun

Putting puzzles together at Granny Ogden's house.

On 23 July (Granny's birthday) we celebrated three birthdays: Granny's birthday (23 July), my birthday (24 July), and Jarem's birthday (26 July).

Mom and Dad's two granddaughters
Getting ready for our Pioneer Day (24 July) Temple-to-Temple walk, a 5k walk from the Provo Temple to the Provo City Center Temple.

Ari and Gideon joined us for the walk.  Jude said last year's walk was enough for him.
At the start line

We had the pleasure of hosting Ari, Jude, and Gideon for a few days at our home.
Many a round of Wits & Wagers was played during those three days.

Back at Granny's house to drop off Ari, Jude, and Gideon, and pick up Maxwell and Denali for the next few days.
I took Douglas, Maxwell, and Denali to a park near our home.  Douglas and Maxwell weren't too happy when they had to wait for their turn on the swings.
But they still gave me smiles when I asked for a "cheese."
Sam reading books to the kids.
Chicken nuggets and tater tots.
The pool was a bit calmer with the littles.

Penny loves to find positions to relax.
Maxwell found the penguin costume in the dress-up box........and he wore it quite a bit!  Amazing that these two ran around in costumes in 95-degree heat.
Denali found the dress-up box as well.  I put the tiger's body on backwards.  Oops.

I took them to Costco with me.

Back to Granny's house on 30 July to celebrate Grandpa Ogden's birthday (30 July) and Maxwell's birthday (1 August).  Maxwell turned five on his birthday.  Grandpa is a wee bit older.

Gideon and Douglas are helping blow out the candles by shaping their mouths in the "blowing" shape.
"I'm five years old!"
On the evening of 30 July, two employees from BYU's Bean Museum came to show us some creatures.
Jarem's parents, Todd and Louise, joined us for the fun along with his Aunt Jane, his niece and nephew, and a couple of neighbor children.
Maxwell picking matches

Denali touching the turtle
Jude and Maxwell getting a close look at a tarantula.
Joseph, Gideon, and Denali looking at the spider.
Time to touch the snake.

With Penny and Denali
Smile!

Penny loves wearing shoes.
Everything is a bracelet or a necklace.

And she likes guns, too.
A little stroll behind Lagoon.

I'm enjoying my children more these days.  Something is changing.  Am I becoming a family man?!
